Mag 254 Connection Problem and Freezing issue

Postby serge19 » 05 Dec 2016, 04:52

I am using mag 254 with inbuilt wifi since Oct 2016.
Last week wifi stopped working for no reason, Now I am using it with ethernet cable...Still haveing the following issue

1. There is a frequent Connection Problem msg in Orange box
2. Box take so long to load the server info...sometime yellow loading bar freeze forever
3. Box kept freezing frequently, and there is no other option to restart by unplugging and power cable.
4. Sometime restart by itself

I am using GEM tv server with iptv700.podzone.net
I have checked my internet service and there is no issue, even my friend is using the same server and have no problem. I took this box to my friends home and having same issue there too.... I am 100% there is something wrong with my box... Please let me know what to do..!!!!

I have 256 not 254. However I fixed the freezing issue with changing router settings. On my ASUS router there is IPTV tab where multicast settings need to be enabled (see screenshot). Also make sure that Mag is plugged in router port defined in Tab (LAN 1). In mag Advanced Settings set IGMP to V2 and specify some buffer size (I have 10 s). Repeat same in inner portal.

I have recently bought a MAG 256 W2 box and 1 year subscription. Problems start with the box itself getting hot, picture freeze, box switching off, having to remove the mains power lead for 10 secs so the box can reboot because the channels don’t work, being ill at this time I’m up through the night only to discover that hardly anything works at these times in the morning properly at all. Tried Star Trek , kept crashing tried catching up on Banshee, kept crashing and losing connection.
Having spent £160 quite frankly I’m beginning to rethink that I have bought a gimmick rather than a proper functioning box especially when I am using SUPER FIBRE OPTIC to avoid this latency and poor reception. Since the last update it has gone crazy on me with these faults.
My question is is there light at the end of the tunnel ?
How long is this tunnel going to be?
When will this be repaired?
Or should I make plans to sell it on? Advice please........

hello
I have a tv samsung and a mag 254, on the tv samsung goes fluid and no blocks while on the mag254 every 2 minutes the image freezes then gives black screen and resumes. I increased the buffer to 4000/5000/6000 but it does not change, I also set the dns as 8.8.8.8 and tested with lan or wifi cable.
Can I do other tests?

Thank you
